My name is Ranjanna Mariia Hvenegaard. I was born in Mumbai, India in 1972 and later adopted by a loving family in Denmark. Before my adoption, I spent my earliest months in care at Elisabeth Nursing Home. That beginning — shaped by vulnerability and protection — is what inspires this work today.
In honor of my parents and grandmother, and inspired by my family’s connection to India, I founded Hvenegaard Adoption Charity Corp.
The purpose of this charity is to support homeless, parentless children in Mumbai, India and protect them from the dangers of sex trafficking.
Vision & Mission
Children without family protection face an increased risk of exploitation, abuse, and trafficking. Our focus is prevention — supporting safe shelter, access to education, and protective care that keeps children out of harm’s way before exploitation occurs.
This charity exists to ensure that vulnerable children are not left unseen or unsupported. By providing stability, education, and protection, we help interrupt the cycle that leads from homelessness to trafficking.
